The 2024 Kia Forte is a modern, stylish, and great value compact sedan that presents shoppers in Woodstock, Kennesaw, Carterville, and Smyrna with some choices you just won’t find elsewhere. With five trim levels, two excellent powerplants, and no fewer than three different transmissions, the 2024 Kia Forte will appeal to many drivers, budgets, and demographics. If you think small sedans have had their day, the Kia Forte challenges you to think again.
Shoppers now have five trim levels to choose between in the 2024 Kia Forte lineup. The range begins with the LX, which is a model with steel wheels that’s probably one for the fleets. Trim levels begin at the LXS trim level and then advance to the GT-Line, GT, and range-topping GT Manual. All five trim levels are front-wheel-drive.
The Forte was redesigned relatively recently, and despite its extremely reasonable pricing, there’s very little about how it looks that suggests budget or economy. The overall design is sleek, modern, and sporty enough to draw legitimate comparisons with Kia’s larger sports sedan. For the 2024 model year, the driver-assist technology features that were previously part of the available Tech Package are now part of the GT-Line standard specification.
The LX, LXS, and GT-Line trim levels of the 2024 Kia Forte come with a standard 2.0-liter inline-four engine that develops 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2.0-liter engine’s power gets sent to the front wheels through Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), one of three transmission options available with the Forte.
If you’d like a more powerful engine under the hood of the Forte, the GT and GT Manual trim levels come equipped with a standard 1.6-liter turbo-four which ups the power ante to 201 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2024 Kia Forte GT is the only model in the lineup that features a standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) with paddle shifters. As the name suggests, the GT Manual trim level swaps the DCT for a six-speed manual transmission for those who like to be more involved with the car when driving.
Every version of the 2024 Forte comes with standard auto headlights, high beam assist, full power features, air conditioning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist w/ Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, remote keyless entry, and a Rear-View Monitor w/ Dynamic Parking Guidance. All trim levels also come with a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. However, the 8.0-inch screen in the LX and LXS gets upgraded to a 10.25-inch unit with Navigation, Kia Connect & SiriusXM Satellite Radio for the GT-Line, GT, and GT-Manual.
At the GT and GT Manual trim levels, you get standard wireless charging, SynTex or SynTex and cloth upholstery, and some of the more advanced safety and driver-assist features. However, your choice of the manual transmission if you want the GT Manual version of the Forte will mean some of the most advanced features are not available as they require the DCT you get in the Forte GT.
The 2024 Kia Forte covers a lot of ground with its five trim levels, two engines, and a trio of transmission options. Even though it’s a compact, the Forte’s 15.3 cu.-ft. of cargo volume puts plenty of much larger sedans to shame, so it’s as practical as it is stylish and excellent value for money.
